They needed more space to expand their growing business, so, in 2017, Johnston Group built a new headquarters to accommodate their 250 local employees. But the company saw an opportunity to do more with their new home. They built it with a focus on wellness. Its welcoming amenities create a space where employees want to come to every day. Natural light and open collaborative areas support a relaxed environment where staff can interact throughout the day. Modern design, a gym, water stations, and a patio were some of the many considerations incorporated to attract and retain employees and support their well-being. But that's not all. Johnston Group has deep-seated values around giving back to the community and they are engaged with a tremendous number of organizations. As a sign of their commitment, many of the meeting rooms in the building are named for organizations the company supports. Graffiti Art Gallery, Habitat for Humanity, Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre, The Children's Hospital Foundation of Manitoba, and United Way were all invited to work with Johnston Group to design the décor in these rooms to represent their causes.
