Coalition for Advanced Manufacturing (CAM)
EDW continues to co-chair the Coalition for Advanced Manufacturing alongside the
Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters (CME). The coalition unites Manitoba's advanced
manufacturing ecosystem and seeks to ensure the community speak with one voice on
issues affecting Manitoba's advanced manufacturing sector.
The CAM executive facilitated a mission to Ottawa and Montreal to meet with senior
representatives from the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, as well
as with senior National Research Council Canada (NRC) Directors who are responsible for
the development of the Winnipeg NRC Advanced Manufacturing Program facility. Joining
the mission were senior representatives from Price Industries, New Flyer Industries, Boeing,
and Magellan Aerospace.
Invest in Canada Community Initiatives Fund – Foreign Direct Investment (FDI)
EDW was successful in securing $126,000 of matching funds through the federal
government's Invest in Canada Community Initiatives Fund (ICCI) for conducting market
intelligence to support EDW's Foreign Direct Investment activities. Specifically, the funds will
be used to enhance our Site Selector data sets and conduct an industry wide talent skills
assessment in support of a Talent Attraction program.
