Winnipeg-born skaters Cindy Klassen
and Clara Hughes share the distinction
of being Canada's all-time most
decorated Olympians. Klassen is the
only Canadian to win five medals at
a single Olympics, while Hughes, also
a cyclist, made history by becoming
the fourth athlete in history to earn
multiple medals in both the summer
and winter Olympics.

Pine Street—in
Winnipeg's
West End—was
home to three WWI
soldiers who received
the Victoria Cross for their bravery
in battle. The street was renamed
Valour Road in honour of these
three courageous citizens, and is
now the name of our professional
soccer team—Valour FC.
