12 2020 Destination Marketing Plan and Partnership Opportunities Personalized familiarization tours and site visits Tourism Winnipeg will collaborate with the tourism industry to co-host meeting and convention clients on customized VIP familiarization tours of Winnipeg. Tourism Winnipeg will also increase its investment in hosting qualified clients on individual site visits in order to personalize tours showcasing Winnipeg's attributes as an exceptional convention destination. Responses to request for proposals (RFP) and bid presentations Tourism Winnipeg will continue to advance the quality and effectiveness of its RFP and bid process through Simpleview, Tourism Winnipeg's customer relations management system. Tourism Winnipeg has also developed a video tutorial that provides step-by-step instructions on how to submit the best possible proposal that will result in a higher success rate on the Extranet site. Tourism Winnipeg and stakeholders responded to 57 RFPs for future events in 2019 as of June 30, representing 28,000 delegates, 47,500 room nights and $31 million in direct spend. Convention servicing Tourism Winnipeg offers services to meetings and conventions to increase delegate attendance and optimize tourism opportunities in order to extend stays in Winnipeg. A service toolkit for meeting planners provides pre-convention promotional information about Winnipeg, as well as a visitor information booth for citywide conventions. New tools include custom landing pages for a convention's website, e-blasts to frontline staff, tailored itinerary building and a flash-your-delegate-badge program for discounts at various attractions. Sales initiatives Tourism Winnipeg will attend the following key trade initiatives and sponsored events in collaboration with the RBC Convention Centre Winnipeg and Travel Manitoba to promote Winnipeg as a meetings and conventions destination.
