These visits, which include both overnight and day trips, generate more than $600 million in direct expenditures. According to Statistics Canada travel surveys, 80 per cent of domestic visitors in 2017 originated in Manitoba. Of domestic visitors, 73 per cent (2,539,000) came for pleasure, 13 per cent (465,000) for business and 14 per cent (474,000) for other reasons.
