THE FORKS MARKET PLAZA The Forks Market Plaza features fountains, canopies, dance programs, several open performance spaces and incomparable patios. In winter, it is home to a skating rink, music under a canopy of twinkling lights, and Winnipeg's newest favourite sport — Crokicurl! JOHNSTON TERMINAL This historic building offers three levels of fabulous shopping and dining including specialty boutiques, a gallery, restaurant, and an antique mall. It is also connected to the Travel Manitoba Visitor Information Centre. Open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily; and Fridays to 9 p.m. Tel: 204.956.5593 OODENA CELEBRATION CIRCLE A natural shallow amphitheatre known as the Oodena Celebration Circle is located near the junction of the two rivers. A naked eye observatory, it pays homage to 6,000 years of Aboriginal peoples in the area and features ethereal sculptures, a sundial, interpretive signage, and a ceremonial fire pit. THE SKATEBOARD PLAZA AT THE FORKS The Plaza is a sensational open-air skate and BMX park. It's so good that Tony Hawk himself was on hand for the opening. It's one of the largest skate parks in Canada — having garnered national media attention — and features stair sets, banks, rails, and a steel ribbon track, while the Bowl Complex features a series of hips, elevators, extensions, and a pump bump. FORTWHYTE ALIVE W Immerse yourself in the wilderness, without leaving the city. FortWhyte Alive showcases a prairie bison herd, five lakes, and seven kilometres of forest trails.
