18 • Winnipeg's unique off-site venues Western Canada's first university, founded in 1877, features over 30 distinct venues, including banquet halls with unique features and trade show spaces. For a one of a kind farm-to-table venue, the Bruce D. Campbell Farm and Food Discovery Centre (located off campus) provides a space where your guests can converse while witnessing the inner workings of a real barn. On campus, the University Centre building houses Marshall McLuhan Hall, where floor-to-ceiling windows overlook a lush garden, while the large, handsome Manitoba Room can be transformed into six separate meetings spaces, making it an ideal venue for meetings, conferences or tradeshows.
