Winnipeg business development team promotes the city as the ideal location for new business, expansion, investment and top talent, making it easy to grow and invest in Winnipeg through a suite of specialized services, market intelligence and business connections. Our Tourism Winnipeg team is the city's official destination marketing organization and leads all efforts to attract visitors, special events, sports, meetings and conventions to Winnipeg and provide residents and visitors the best possible experience. Economic Development Winnipeg acknowledges that we are located on Treaty One territory, the original lands of the Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Dene peoples, and on the homeland of the Métis nation. EDW is a signatory to the City of Winnipeg's, Indigenous Accord (2018). We agreed to: » Support Indigenous economic development – partner and collaborate with Indigenous businesses and organizations in project development, including the development of workforce strategies. » 2019- Partnership with Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada (ITAC). » We also ursued and won a bid to host The National Gathering of Elders which took place in Winnipeg, Manitoba from September 9 to 12, 2019. » Use market intelligence to further programs that support the Indigenous workforce.
