Investor relations 2019 was a successful year for investment in YES! Winnipeg, with $687,000 from investors and $98,000 of in-kind investment for total revenue of $785,000. This is an increase of $135,000 from 2018. Planning for the next five- year investment campaign is well underway with several projects nearing completion. Lunch & Launch Our YW team hosted its first Lunch & Launch event in June. The goal of this pilot program was to address challenges faced by Winnipeg companies seeking access to capital. Six Winnipeg- based companies were selected from diverse sectors to pitch to nine prospective investors. Each company had five minutes to present, followed by a five-minute question period. Post-event, our YW team facilitated 28 connections between interested investors and their selected companies. YES! Winnipeg Investor Breakfast The annual investor breakfast was held in November at the Fairmont Winnipeg. It was our best-attended investor breakfast to date with 172 in attendance. A post-event survey returned a 95 per cent satisfaction rate. This year's event was also the launch of our new Talent Hub initiative, a celebration of our successes and the release of the 2020 issue of The Winnipeg Investor magazine. YES! Winnipeg & RBC - Humans Wanted event Our YW team co-hosted a joint event with RBC for a select group of Winnipeg professionals, to showcase both YW's and RBC's work in the talent space. During the breakfast, John Stackhouse, Senior Vice President of RBC presented the report, Humans Wanted: How Canadian Youth Can Thrive in the Age of Disruption. YW's Vice President of Sales & Business Development Ryan Kuffner led a fireside chat with John, while our President & CEO, Dayna Spiring facilitated an executive- level roundtable discussion with John. Investor Council Our YW Investor Council continues to be a valuable source of feedback and guidance for our team. Doug Harvey of DLH Group chairs the 18-member council, which represents YW investors. The council gathers feedback and engages investors who may be helpful in achieving our strategy for business attraction, retention and expansion. Our council met quarterly, focussing on specific discussion themes, its role including lobbying the government when needed and getting involved in specific opportunities such as creating action plans and facilitating introductions.
