Currently, the Winnipeg Convention Centre offers 160,000 sq. ft. of space and will nearly double in size for a total of 267,000 sq. ft. when expansion is complete in 2016. The new facility will include multi-purpose divisible spaces, 135,000 sq. ft. of pillarless space, additional underground parking, main floor public assembly space and a ballroom with breathtaking views of the city. The Canadian Museum for Human Rights is a venue unlike any other in the world. Designed by renowned architect Antoine Predock, this iconic facility is a "dialogue" museum, promoting and advancing education about human rights. It is dedicated to encourage and facilitate engagement and reflection about human rights issues throughout Canada and the world. Located at The Forks—Manitoba's number one tourist attraction—the museum will be of great interest for related fields such as architecture and education, and will be a premier destination to host a human rights or social inclusion conference. Set to open in 2014, with venue rentals available in 2015, meeting areas will include three flexible classroom spaces suitable for 20 to 120 participants, a corporate board room and adjacent balcony ideal for small meetings and receptions, and the dramatic Bonnie & John Buhler Hall—an ideal location for larger-scale formal dinners, programs, or receptions. y to Churchill at As Journe sinib oin e Par k Zo o Qualico Family Centre at Assiniboine Park One of Winnipeg's most popular gathering spaces, Assiniboine Park and Assiniboine Park Zoo is entering a thrilling new chapter with $200 million in new investment. The park offers beautiful nature views, meeting facilities and attractions in the middle of the city. New park additions include the recently expanded duck pond and Qualico Family Centre—a tranquil meeting and banquet facility. The architecturally stunning building features a 220seat reception hall, state-of-the-art audio and video technology and inspired banquet menu. Future park plans include construction of a breathtaking new Conservatory. The Assiniboine Park Zoo's Journey to Churchill will feature the world's most comprehensive polar bear exhibit, which is set to open in 2014.
