Polo Park Shopping Centre The Forks Market: Brent Bellamy shopping Itinerary ◗ Half Day Home decorators unite at the recently opened IKEA on Kenaston Boulevard. Eat lunch in the popular cafeteria and try the famous Swedish meatballs. Browse well-laid-out show rooms for inspiration and shop till you drop for furniture, accent pieces, kitchen gadgets and more. Further south along Kenaston Boulevard are several power centres with big box stores featuring your favourite clothing brands. In this shopping district you'll find Nygard International's flagship store, Costco, Indigo Books, La Senza, Tommy Hilfiger outlet, Lindt Chocolate, David's Bridal, Walmart and Urban Barn, among others. Then, take a quick drive to the River Heights neighbourhood. Shop for his and her cult favourite clothing brands in luxurious materials at Danali before continuing on to Grant Park Shopping Centre. This newly renovated shopping centre is home to anchor tenant McNally Robinson Booksellers, along with David's Tea, Empire Theatres, and local boutiques October and Diva Lingerie. Put your shopping bags down and relax for a dinner inside McNally Robinson's Prairie Ink Restaurant + Bakery, or if you want to try pizza cooked in Canada's first coal-fired pizza oven, then Carbone is a close drive. ●Full Day 1 Before starting your shopping excursion on the bustling Corydon strip, eat a hearty breakfast at Falafel Place. Fill up on its famous falafel breakfast— eggs and bacon are served alongside the well-spiced chickpea balls with a generous dollop of hummus. Now it's time to explore this neighbourhood's charming boutiques, including fashion-forward Cha Cha Palace and shoe palace Soul Shoes & Accessories, or Uomo Casual Fine Clothing for Men. Then, outfit your home with gorgeous one-of-a-kind furniture from Room for Style or antique treasures from Abbey's Antiques and Things Antiques & Gifts. Radiance Gifts & Treasures is a great spot to pick up gifts for those hard-to-buy-for friends and relatives back home. Candles, journals, jewellery and books line the shelves of this well-stocked shop. Stroll over to Sugar 34 Winnipeg Mountain for retro-inspired fun. This playful store carries old-fashioned candy, memorabilia and sweets from around the world. Just off the Corydon strip on Lilac Street lays a strip of independent shops. Maison S is renowned for its specialty beauty products and high-end salon, Whodunit? specializes in mystery books, while The Green Scene is a haven for gardeners. If you drive west down Corydon, you'll encounter another retail cluster. Small Indulgence is a sweet gift shop carrying kitchen tools, greeting cards, servingware and more. Across the street is Diamond Gallery, a luxury jewellery store specializing in platinum and sparkling gems. Browse a well-edited collection of clothing at Luxe Label, Village Streetwear and Poppie Clothing. Next, drive to posh shopping district Academy Road and fuel up for more shopping at Modern Taco Company. Eat your fill of freshly made fish tacos, quesadillas, and chips and dip; wash it down with thirst-quenching margaritas and daiquiris. Hit the shopping hot spots along Academy Road, where you can pick up cottage cozy home accessories at Lake Life, a chic outfit from Chestnut Lane Boutique, locally made beauty goodies at Tiber River Naturals, or comfortable, yet stylish footwear at European Shoe Shop. Foodies flock to specialty food shop G. J. Andrews for trendy condiments, cheese, meat and wine. If you're seeking silky undergarments, Eyelet Dove's expert team will help you find the right fit. Polo Park Shopping Centre, the city's largest shopping mall, is next on the list. Indulge in some serious retail therapy at more than 200 hip retailers, including Apple, Lulu Lemon, Hollister, Forever 21, Victoria's Secret, Michael Kors, Browns Shoes, Sears and Lush. A meal at one of the area's trendy restaurants is a welcome end to a full day of shopping. Check out Chave d'Ouro for authentic Portuguese cuisine. 2013 Spring/Summer Events & Itineraries Guide
