Leo Mol Sculpture Garden: Assiniboine Park Conservancy Ten Spa: McFadden Design Studio ●Day 2 This afternoon, it's time to get in touch with nature at Assiniboine Park. This urban playground has a little something for everyone. You can bask in the peaceful surroundings of the Leo Mol Sculpture Garden, take a stroll through the numerous walking trails, toss a Frisbee on the manicured fields or try your hand at some birding. Your second day of health and wellness starts with breakfast at one of three Stella's Café and Bakery locations in the city. The hot spot for breakfast, denizens clamour inside for the hearty Mexican breakfast complete with guacamole, tortillas, beans and eggs how you like 'em or the smoked salmon breakfast with capers, whipped cream cheese, Stella's house-made berry jam and crispy bacon. If mother nature isn't cooperating, Vertical Adventures houses the city's only full-service indoor climbing wall or Moksha Yoga offers barre classes to channel your inner ballerina. Your body is now primed for the ultimate loose-as-a-noodle treatment at Ten Spa's Turkish hamam. The only one of its kind in Canada, its steamy warmth will cocoon you in luxury as you are buffed, scrubbed and massaged into bliss. The day reaches its end in Terrace in the Park's light and airy dining room. This elegant spot is a fish and seafood lover's dream with fresh and succulent offerings, like smoked octopus with toasted hazelnuts, albacore tuna tacos with lime crema, and cioppino (seafood stew) flavoured with fennel and Pernod. Afterwards, head to Osborne Village for a little cultural shopping and local flavour. This boho chic neighbourhood is home to organic markets like Vita Health and Organza, as well as Tea Story—a modern café featuring a unique combo of teas, bubble teas and waffles. Lunch stops at Burrito del Rio where fresh, wholesome Mexican fare is the specialty. Large, fluffy tortillas are placed on the flat top and loaded with your choice of ingredients including five kinds of meat, six kinds of salsa and numerous kinds of hot sauce. Pair it with light and crispy tortilla chips and a cold Corona for the perfect treat.
