Student athletes have been selected to represent the University of Manitoba in nine different sports on 16 different teams. On most weekends from the end of August through the end of March, you will find these athletes competing in sports ranging from football to swimming to hockey, striving to win the right to advance to the Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) National Championships for their respective sport. The Bisons' programs have a rich history and have illustrious alumni, including NFL star Israel "Izzy" Idonije and 2012 Olympic bronze medallist Desiree Scott.
