The Winnipeg Art Gallery's wag@home invites viewers to discover the Gallery's
incredible collection online via hi-res images. The new (and of course
gorgeous) website allows you to browse the collections thematically, with sections
on Canadian art, Indigenous art, contemporary art, decorative art, American and
European art, photography and video, and prints and drawings. With a healthy
number of its 30,000-work collection online, this is a great way to spend an
afternoon or evening.
As well, the WAG's $65-million Qaumajuq is scheduled to open up in early 2021
which will house the world's largest collection of contemporary Inuit art. To learn
more about the Centre, check out this virtual tour of the building's incredible
construction with architect Michael Maltzan, along with the official website where
you'll also find interesting preview videos that set the tone of its mandate.
