FAMILY FUN
Lifelong
memories are
made here.
FORTWHY TE.ORG
Wander the wetlands of Oak Hammock Marsh, one of North
America's birding hotspots, where you can rent canoes, walk
nature trails and watch for 25 species of mammals, 300
species of birds and numerous amphibians, reptiles and fish.
For more wide, open spaces, Kings Park, Assiniboine Park,
La Barriere Park, Kildonan Park and St. Vital Park are must-
sees, the latter of which features The Witch's Hut straight out of
a fairytale and toboggan slides and skating in winter.
Travel back in time with a guided tour of Fort Gibraltar, a
reconstructed 19th-century North West Company fort, or spend
a day in the 1850s exploring Lower Fort Garry National
Historic Site with plenty of interactive activities led by
costumed interpreters.
Kids will be engrossed in even more indoor amusement, like
the recently-expanded laser tag arena Lasertopia, Flying
Squirrel Trampoline Park and hugely fun indoor playgrounds
Hide n' Seek and Fun Park Amusement Centre.
For an entire neighbourhood of fun, visit the historic
Exchange District where charming toy store Toad Hall Toys
awaits, providing a world of wonder and imagination for
kids of all ages. Take a fascinating walking tour to learn the
quirky history of the area, shop the dozens of boutiques and
stop for lunch at one of the many local eateries like Chosabi
or King + Bannatyne.
