Find yourself at The Forks
Manitoba's most-visited tourism destination has it all, from an incredible market that
connects visitors to local makers while offering an abundance of culinary options from
some of the city's best chefs, to outdoor excursions that include novelty bike rentals and
river cruises in the summer and a frozen playground to skate, fat tire bike, kicksled and
ski in winter.
Learn of the site's 6,000-year-old Indigenous history on an audio walking tour, then
witness its future at Niizhoziibean (meaning two rivers in Ojibway), one of the country's
largest Indigenous-led areas of public expression. Here you'll find a lodge built for
ceremonies, gardens with local medicinal plants, incredible works of art on a grand
scale, and signage in Cree, Ojibway and Michif.
Even more attractions at The Forks include The Canadian Museum for Human Rights—
an architectural marvel with interactive content for all ages; Manitoba Theatre for
Young People—whose wondrous productions are ideal for the whole family; and The
Children's Museum—which dazzles with its hands-on approach to edutainment.
