Letter from leadership Economic Development Winnipeg acknowledges that we are located on Treaty 1 territory, the original lands of Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota and Dene Peoples and on the homeland of the Métis Nation. Dear readers, There are moments in time that build the strength and character of a community. Winnipeg experienced many moments like this in 2021. TIME magazine touted the opening of Winnipeg Art Gallery-Qaumajuq as one of the reasons our city landed on its list of Greatest Places for 2021, Winnipeg was named the Most Intelligent Community for 2021 by the Intelligent Community Forum and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers took home another Grey Cup. All of these accolades and wins signal something bigger—the collective will of our community to make it the best it can be, while also highlighting why Winnipeg continues to be a great place to live, work and invest. We saw that with how many business leaders and organizations stepped up to invest in this city and YES! Winnipeg's Real Impact Campaign. The five-year Real Impact Campaign 2025 launched in February 2021 and is the third private sector investment campaign since the inception of YES! Winnipeg in 2010. The creation of YES! Winnipeg was a defining moment for our city as more Winnipeg companies commit more investment to this campaign than throughout its history. Private sector leaders have made it clear they are dedicated to the success of Winnipeg and want to work together to attract and retain business, build our talent pipeline, create strong partnerships and promote Winnipeg on the international stage—all to strengthen our economy and improve the quality of life for all present and future Winnipeggers. We are ready to pursue new and ambitious economic opportunities, leveraging the support and strengths of our business community. In this edition, you will read how leading YES! Winnipeg investors are working to grow their businesses, build new partnerships, expand their reach and support our local community. As business leaders, you are fueling this growing momentum. Together, let's continue to make a real impact on Winnipeg.
