Marketing spotlight Winnipeg winning TIME Winnipeg continued to solidify its global reputation as the cultural cradle of Canada with world-class offerings and attractions that put it on TIME's annual list of the World's Greatest Places for 2021. To compile this list, TIME solicited nominations of places—including countries, regions, cities and towns—from its international network of correspondents and contributors, with an eye toward those offering new and exciting experiences. Winnipeg was chosen for its ground-breaking Winnipeg Art Gallery - Qaumajuq, which houses the world's largest public collection of contemporary Inuit art as well as the city's other innovative and inspiring attractions such as the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, New Music Festival and Warming Huts contest. eTSY We were thrilled to win eTourism Summit's eTSY award for the category of Best Use of Video (live, short- form, long-form) – small budget. We won the award for the out-of-the-box thinking and creativity of our LEGO stop-motion video, "What is economic development?" As a smaller destination marketing organization, Economic Development Winnipeg and Tourism Winnipeg write, produce and film so many of our videos in-house, so it's great to garner this kind of recognition. We've been blown away by the response we've seen to this video across the globe—from other economic development boards, government agencies, educators and the public—making all 3,212 photos we took to make this stop-motion video worthwhile. whatiseconomicdevelopment.com Winnipeg Works Economic Development Winnipeg partnered with CTV News Winnipeg for the series, Winnipeg Works, to highlight the many opportunities to live and work in the city and surrounding areas. This weekly spot featured news and current stories about Winnipeg's economic landscape across CTV's tv broadcasts and online platforms. Winnipeg Works gave insights into the booming businesses in the city with a look at who was hiring and what was growing, and YES! Winnipeg's Talent Hub.
