Dan Harper Supply shocks that resulted from the pandemic (supply chain constraints and reduced supplies) increased inflation pressures. Government fiscal policy provided extraordinary fiscal and health supports for Canadians. The Bank of Canada began the pandemic providing exceptional monetary supports – 25 basis points, and an expanded balance sheet. Conditions improved to the point of stopping the growth of the balance sheet and by the end of 2021 it began increasing the overnight rate. » As a result, we expect to see the overnight rate rise and the balance sheet begin to decline during 2022. This will help decrease Consumer Price Index inflation. CRM evaluation Our MI team focused on creating a unified data source for EDW in 2021. Our data strategy included an evaluation of the current Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform, where our goals included: » A system that met key requirements for all teams. » The ability to extract data points from the CRM into our data warehouse. Obtaining a new platform that is cost effective and driven by our key requirements, not the technology. » The capacity to have a single view of an account/ customer across the entire organization. Assisted by our partners, Online Business Systems and Traction-On-Demand, we were able to identify the challenges, tools, functions and key information utilized in our current CRM platform and replicate or enhance these developments into our new CRM platform, Salesforce. After successfully merging our data into the new platform, it officially went live on December 20, 2021. Salesforce allows us to capture data, coordinate and update interactions with our clients and partners from Tourism Winnipeg and YES! Winnipeg teams. This in turn, creates a single source of truth for client data. This will also enable EDW to better identify development opportunities on an account-by-account basis. We established a business development life cycle that is consistently applied across EDW development teams, while allowing for specialized service delivery across the organization. Information gathered from Salesforce will be integral to aligning the work of our teams and enabling better decision-making across the organization. 15 2021 ANNUAL REPORT
