Go on an adventure into our prairie past and leave knowing more about how bison have shaped Canada's history. Bison safaris are a summer favourite for families, photographers and anyone looking for an epic Manitoba experience. • $18/person ($15 for members) • July to August; • Thursdays and Sundays, 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Baby bison walk | 1.5 hours The Plains Bison is a magnificent mammal and a fitting symbol for the province of Manitoba. See the herd in action, hear how this icon of the prairie almost disappeared and feel a connection to the herd as you see the miracle of baby bison. • $15/person ($12 for members) • July to August • Saturdays, 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Habitat secrets | 1.5 hours FortWhyte Alive's naturalists share some of their favourite places to see birds and mammals, and introduce key plants that define the different habitat areas.
