community has a rich history of inclusion and
recognition. Winnipeg was the first major
North American city to elect an openly gay
mayor, same-sex marriage has been legal (and
celebrated) in Manitoba since 2004, while we've
staged vibrant Pride Winnipeg festivals annually
since 1987.

Canadian Museum for Human Rights

This literal beacon for human rights houses numerous
exhibitions focusing on 2SLGBTQIA+ history and inclusivity.
Pride Winnipeg Festival

A tradition since 1987, Pride Winnipeg now draws more
than 50,000 participants to kick-off summer to attend
events like the Pride Parade, the rally at the Legislative
Building, and the Pride Festival at The Forks.
Reel Pride Film Festival

For nearly four decades, Reel Pride has been sharing
2SLGBTQIA+ films in Manitoba, showcasing almost 1,000
films that may have never made it to local screens.

This hip group of creatives stages numerous inclusive
events throughout the year, including the Gorge Festival,
an "annual celebration of the legacy and future of
2SLGBTQIA+ art and drag based in Winnipeg, Manitoba,
on Treaty 1 Territory."
