2025 Partnership Opportunities 2 Tourism Winnipeg, a division of Economic Development Winnipeg, is the city's official destination marketing organization (DMO). We lead all efforts to grow the economy by attracting visitors, business events, sports and special events and packaged tours to Winnipeg. Tourism Winnipeg's experienced business development and servicing team of experts serve as a concierge for meeting planners, sports and special event organizers and tour operators to host their events and programs in Winnipeg. Through a suite of free, specialized services and a one-stop-shop approach, we ensure visitors and event attendees experience Winnipeg's vibrant community and warm hospitality. Our client-centered strategy fosters trust within our host community, and whether for small meetings or large-scale, world-class events, Winnipeg has earned its reputation as a premier host city. Thanks to the support of our partners in 2024, here are just a few of the opportunities we have secured for Winnipeg: » 2025 Canadian FInance & Leasing Association Annual Conference » 2026 Public Service Alliance of Canada National Equity Conference » 2026 Canadian Association of Emergency Physicians Annual Scientific Conference » 2026 Canadian Labour Congress Triennial Convention Securing events like these has a direct impact on Winnipeg's economy — for example, in 2023, that impact reached $70 million. We look forward to sharing our 2024 results at year-end. 2025 priorities Supported by the detailed business plans for each market segment, here are high-level priorities for 2025: Who we are Sector-driven business events strategy Our team will continue to leverage our network of national and local business and community leaders to attract new visitors and grow the economy by hosting meetings and conventions strategically aligned with Winnipeg's economic sectors. Bring It Home program We will work closely with local business and academic leaders to actively attract and secure national and international events and conferences to Winnipeg. Major event acquisition We are continuing to leverage the opportunity of hosting the Sports Event Congress with all the national sport organizations in Winnipeg in 2024 and the upcoming 2025 CEBL Championship Weekend and Grey Cup. In partnership with Travel Manitoba, we aim to advance a major events framework for the province to drive Winnipeg's capabilities and prospects in securing future opportunities. Sustainability and destination stewardship We plan to execute on the insights gained from the Global Destination Sustainability Index and the creation of a sustainable tourism roadmap for Winnipeg to align with our clients' sustainability goals. Indigenous tourism growth We are committed to collaborating with the Indigenous tourism community to create and promote unique Indigenous experiences to visitors and meeting/event professionals in the spirit of truth and reconciliation, enriching the cultural understanding of all participants. Delivering a successful Rendez-vous Canada We will host, in partnership with Travel Manitoba, more than 1,500 tourism industry professionals and over 300 international tour operators at Rendez-vous Canada in May 2025 in Winnipeg. This premier marketplace will allow us to showcase our market-ready experiences to key international audiences and secure incremental visitation for future.
