Winter
Late December to late March
What to wear and pack: Sunglasses and skates for
starters! While our winters get dark fast in the afternoon,
during the day you have plenty of sunlight in play. The
wind chill often makes all the difference, so it's good to
have some sort of face protection along with a winter cap
if you are doing outdoor activities like walking or skating
along the Nestaweya River Trail at The Forks. You'll want a
thick parka (often a peacoat won't cut it unless you have
a big toasty scarf and a couple more layers underneath)
and warm boots. Wear long underwear, warm mittens or
gloves and some sort of snow pants to get the most of
our great outdoors in January.
