WINNIPEG'S ACCLAIMED CULINARY SCENE Winnipeg's culinary scene continues to garner national attention and there are always new and much-loved hidden gems that should be on every gourmand's radar. Here's a few great places to start your culinary journey in Winnipeg. In the national spotlight • The current Canada's 100 Best Restaurants (C100) list features deer + almond, chef Mandel Hitzer's wildly creative tasting menu joint in The Exchange District; Yujiro Japanese Restaurant by award-winning chef Ed Lam in River Heights; and Norwood small plates restaurant Nola by Top Chef Canada alumna and bronze medalist from the Canadian Culinary Championship, chef Emily Butcher • Chef Scott Bagshaw has made the C100 numerous times. His two latest restaurants—Passero in Little Italy and Né de Loup in River Heights—are a must for those who relish beautiful plates.
