MESSAGE FROM THE PREMIER OF MANITOBA On behalf of friendly Manitoba, welcome to our capital city of Winnipeg. Whether you are new to Winnipeg or a frequent visitor, there is something for everyone here in the heart of Canada. Throughout the seasons, Winnipeg is the place for wilderness junkies and urban adventurers alike. Vibrant music and theatre festivals overtake our city throughout the seasons, offering cultural entertainment that spans across the genres. A world-class ballet, a symphony orchestra, and a restaurant scene that inspires and surprises with its sheer diversity of global cuisine are all located within walking distance. Only a few steps away from the city's centre, you'll discover unrivalled ecotourism opportunities and historical sites that tell the story of Western Canada and the iconic Aboriginal heritage on which our province was founded. Brimming with unique attractions, Winnipeg is happy to welcome you. I am certain you will have a memorable visit to our city, and that we will be seeing you back again very soon. Greg Selinger MESSAGE FROM THE MAYOR OF WINNIPEG On behalf of The City of Winnipeg and my colleagues at City Hall, I would like to take the opportunity to offer my warmest greetings and officially welcome you to Winnipeg–a city of unique sights and dynamic experiences. Our city is a community that boasts first-class attractions, such as MTS Centre, home of the Winnipeg Jets, The Forks, a meeting place with a history that goes back thousands of years, and the impressive Investors Group Field at the University of Manitoba that houses the Blue Bombers and U of M Bisons. Be sure to visit our eclectic neighbourhoods such as Osborne Village, known for its unique local shops, St. Boniface, proudly displaying its rich French heritage, and, just outside the Perimeter Highway, St. Norbert, the neighbourhood which holds our city's largest farmers' market in the summer. You will see that Winnipeg is a community perfectly suited to fulfill a wide variety of tastes and preferences. Besides these attractions, Winnipeg is also known for its supreme hospitality and warm, welcoming spirit. As a result, we attract visitors from far and wide to our city, known affectionately as "The Heart of the Continent". I encourage you to discover why so many of us living here appreciate Winnipeg more than ever, and I invite you to visit us often. I am sure we will exceed expectations each and every time.
