PRAIRIE DOG
CENTRAL RAILWAY
w
More than just a train ride! The Prairie Dog
Central Railway operates a fully restored
1900s-era vintage train with five wooden
coaches pulled by either an 1882 steam
or a 1950s classic GP9 diesel locomotive.
Each unique trip incorporates a station
stop at Grosse Isle, where there are
local country vendors with home baking,
produce and handicrafts.
The onsite gift store, The Freight Shed,
offers souvenirs and gifts at Inkster
Junction Station prior to and after
your trip.
The Prairie Dog Central runs most
weekends and holiday Mondays
from May through September, with the
Howlin' Halloween Express Trains running
in October.
Engineer for a day, Party Caboose, Ride in
the Caboose, and charters are available
upon request.
Inkster Junction Station is located on
Prairie Dog Trail on the north side of
Centreport Highway between Route
90 and Sturgeon Road – just outside
