On this two-day tour you'll discover unique neighbourhoods, see incredible sites, and participate in a variety of hands-on activities alongside local people. DAY 1 Start the day with a guided city tour of our beautiful city, where Assiniboine Park, the Leo Mol Sculpture Garden, the Legislative Building, downtown Winnipeg, and The Forks Market are all on the agenda. Visit the new Journey to Churchill Exhibit at the Assiniboine Park Zoo, with lunch at the Tundra Grill. The sprawling new exhibit features polar bears and a host of Arctic animals in three distinctive zones. The interactive exhibits provide a four-season, five-sense educational experience like no other, reinforcing key messages of biodiversity, climate change and conservation. Afterward, a unique evening of zany entertainment and superb dining is at hand at Celebrations, Winnipeg's dinner theatre. At this four- course, three-act musical comedy even the waiters are in character – and you may even end up on stage! (Wednesday through Sunday) DAY 2 This day is dedicated to the discovery of St. Boniface, Winnipeg's French Quarter, which is home to western Canada's largest French community. Tour the magnificent Cathedral and enjoy a production of Theatre in the Cemetery, an outdoor production that brings our past to life. Continue on to the St. Boniface Museum and learn of Manitoba's rich pioneering history. Next, you're off to lunch at Fort Gibraltar, where the blacksmith and fur traders tell tales of the voyageurs during the fur trade era. Then, stroll along the area's main boulevard where you'll learn the art of chocolate making from a celebrated chocolatier. For dinner it's off to the races at Assiniboia Downs. A race will be named in honour of your visit and will be commemorated with an engraved plaque and a photo of your group's representative, with the winning horse.
