Summer Entertainment Series at ASSINIBOINE PARK
This summer explore the arts in the beauty of the Park. THE RED RIVER CO-OP
SUMMER ARTS AND ENTERTAINMENT SERIES runs from late June to
August and is FREE to the public.
Events include MOVIES IN THE PARK held each Friday in August. Bring your
lawn chair, a blanket and your loved ones and enjoy a selection of family-friendly
and blockbuster movies at the open-air Lyric Theatre. Each Friday there will be an
'Early Feature' at 7 pm and a 'Late Feature' at 9:15 pm.
SUMMER MUSIC SERIES at the Lyric Theatre includes a selection of
weekday evening concerts and Sunday Night Smooth Jazz concerts starting
in late June. Concerts typically start at 7 pm with some exceptions (check
www.assiniboinepark.ca for full schedule). This summer's line-up will include
a variety of talented groups and musicians, including the Winnipeg Symphony
Orchestra, Streetheart and classical guitarist Liona Boyd.
ART IN THE PARK can be enjoyed at the Pavilion Gallery Museum and the
Leo Mol Sculpture Garden. You'll see everything from engravings and paintings
to sculpture and photography. Don't forget to check out The Pooh Gallery!
JAZZ IN THE LEO MOL SCULPTURE GARDEN features some of Winnipeg's
most talented jazz artists and runs each Sunday afternoon at 3 pm from late June
through August.
