An awe-inspiring classroom
Travel through 11 exhibits from the dark, near-cavernous ground floor up to
the sunlight-bathed Tower of Hope at the illuminating, architectural marvel, the
Canadian Museum for Human Rights.
On thematic guided class tours, like the thought-provoking "When Rights are
Denied," students are challenged to witness a range of historical and contemporary
world events. On this tour, they will learn to discuss their own concepts of freedom,
identity and discrimination. The experience – which utilizes a digital interactive study
table, film, and oral history listening stations – focuses on histories including the
transatlantic slave trade and genocides which have taken place across the globe.

Acting out your education
In conjunction with the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, Manitoba Theatre for
Young People (MTYP) has developed a new student workshop that uses drama to explore
and illustrate issues around human rights.
MTYP also provides theatre workshops on literally any topic or length, fostering an
atmosphere where student's imagination and showmanship will help them present ideas
and emotions in an experience that goes well beyond a conventional classroom.
