Frescolio, an exciting specialty store featuring a wide selection of gourmet-quality extra virgin olive oils and vinegars in a tasting-bar setting. Chocolatier Constance Popp produces fresh premium artisan chocolate using Manitoba-produced ingredients and exotic single-origin chocolate; enjoy samples as you learn all about chocolate at this socially and environmentally responsible business. For dinner, sit amid the historic buildings of Fort Gibraltar, a replicated North West Company fur trading post. Sip and sample your way through a culinary adventure, letting your taste buds loose with three courses of unique food items paired with delicious local beers and ales. You'll learn how simple beer choices can make your meals come alive. DAY 2: Start at the historic Forks Market. You'll visit Tall Grass Prairie Bread Company where organic, homegrown berries, seeds, grain and fruit rule the bakeshop. Their in-house mill – prominently featured in the Market – grinds many grains used in their recipes. Choosing to remain intimate with all the processes required to grow, harvest, mill, bake, and sell, Tall Grass remains a small hands-on bakery. You'll bake our own mini-loaves to take home. Visit FortWhyte Alive nature centre to learn about the FortWhyte Farms program. They provide horticultural training with vegetables, herbs, and fruit to youth from diverse cultural backgrounds building confidence and leadership skills in farm production on their 1.5 acres of garden space. See the beehives and learn all about the cycle of honey production, raising chickens, and pigs. After your tour, enjoy a delicious lunch prepared and served on-site. Catch a glimpse of the bison herd or shop in their unique gift shop before heading out. Dinner will be hosted at De Luca's Italian Cooking Studio. Their private cooking demonstration will allow you to sit back and enjoy as your four-course dinner is created right in front of your eyes under the expert guidance of their chef.
