The major factor for a record year (36% increase in delegates) is due to hosting larger conventions and citywide conventions in 2016. Looking ahead to 2017, the total number of national conferences and delegates are pacing on par with 2016; however, the total number of national room nights are pacing slightly behind 2015. The lower room nights is attributed to conventions blocking lower room nights. Whereas for 2018, national conferences are pacing ahead in number of national conventions, delegates and total room nights. 2018 is strengthened by eight citywide conventions confirmed for that year, with 6,650 delegates and more than 10,000 total room nights required. Booked business as of November 30, 2016 compared to same time last year.
