WINNIPEG
Canadian Museum for Human Rights
The Canadian Museum for Human Rights is a
must for out-of-towners and locals alike. There is
nothing like it. Anywhere. Visitors will experience
how powerful personal stories, well-researched
content and awesome architecture combine in
unexpected ways to underscore the importance
of rights for all.
Visits can be experienced in either of Canada's
official languages, with information and
services readily available and easily accessible
in both French and English. The CMHR has
embraced an approach to inclusive design that
sets new Canadian and world standards for
universal accessibility.
Education programs aimed at K to 12 students
use a diverse range of activities, events and tools
— inside and outside of this national centre for
human rights learning.
A variety of tours and activities can be arranged.
Examples of experiences available and
in development:
• Museum Highlights tour
• Museum Architecture tour
• Curriculum-specific content for students of all
ages
• Indigenous experience
Cost for these offerings start at $5 per person,
and are in addition to the cost of admission.
Canada's new national museum in Winnipeg
engages visitors of all ages.
