Voyageur, Métis and First Nations histories are brought back to life, not only through the historical interpretation offered inside reconstructed Fort Gibraltar, but also through the many attractions inside Voyageur Park and at the festival's various official sites. Fort Gibraltar, once a North West Company fur trade post, reflects the lifestyle of the settlement and the roles played by the Métis, settlers, explorers, aboriginal people and the adventuresome voyageurs. Witness the fascinating history through the eyes of the voyageurs, play voyageur games including axe throwing and discover the diverse cast of characters that call it home. There is plenty of free parking, group tour programs, workshops and a banquet room for catered meals and box lunches.
