Page 12 COMMUNIT Y PROFILE MANITOBA MUSEUM The renovation and expansion of Alloway Hall at the Manitoba Museum will see the space nearly double to more than 9,700 sq. ft. allowing for greater capacity to bring in large exhibitions and to host major events as an off-site venue. It is expected to be completed by the end of 2017. SUTTON PLACE HOTEL A luxurious new accommodation option located across from the RBC Convention Centre Winnipeg—Sutton Place Hotels will be opening at True North Square. The property is part of a transformative new downtown plaza, which will include enclosed skywalks, boutiques, restaurants, and green space, breathing new life and vibrancy into the city's core. DIVERSITY GARDENS AT ASSINIBOINE PARK Using plants as the medium, Canada's Diversity Gardens will tell the cultural story of the relationships that exist between people and plant life and showcase Canada's multiculturalism. It will feature worldly cuisine and meeting spaces in an ecological building with thermal and solar technology and is expected to open in 2019/2020. INUIT ART CENTRE AT THE WINNIPEG ART GALLERY The Winnipeg Art Gallery will expand to include an Inuit Art Centre that will bring the power and beauty of the Arctic to Winnipeg. The centre will grow the Inuit art sector through exhibitions, teaching, training and program sessions. A stunning new off site venue to Winnipeg, it will celebrate a greater understanding of the north and showcase its beauty. The offsite venue will open three years from the time they break ground.
