Accelerated Course Closure Plan
In the event of a need to remove participants from the course:
1. Contact Executive Director and update on current situation
2. Executive Director to assemble Emergency Action Team (EAT) to consist of Executive Director,
Manitoba Marathon Chairperson, Technical Coordinator and Medical Coordinator
3. EAT or Executive Director determine need to activate plan
4. Determine location of last runner
5. Contact City Police
6. Contact First Student Canada coordinator
7. Determine accelerated course closure pace
8. Deploy sweep buses:
a. Deploy 2 sweep buses and police escort to "last" runner
b. At the determined accelerated course closure pace, sweep buses proceed along course, picking
up runners
c. When first bus is full it will return to Investors Group Field; second bus begins picking up
runners; third bus is then dispatched to that location, and so on to completion
9. Relay Shuttle operation continues as normal:
a. Routes from Relay Exchange Zone to Investors Group Field
b. Routes to previous Relay Exchange Zone
