Since approving its 2005 Active Transportation Study, the City has fulfilled four key priorities that included hiring a dedicated coordinator and forming an advisory committee. Winnipeg is committed to active transportation. In fact, in May 2016, Winnipeg city councillors unanimously passed a $6-million pedestrian and cycling action plan, allowing the city to construct more paths, sidewalks and corridors as part of its grander 20-year, $330-million active transportation plan.
