B U S I N E S S P L A N • 3 0 The 2023 WPFG Host Society will ensure to meet the WPFG standards for all participants, as outlined in Section 24.00 MARKETING AND PROMOTION of the WPFG agreement. It is understood that the WPFG Federation holds the merchandise and vendor rights and that the Federation will work with the 2023 WPFG Host Society. Our proposed merchandise plan will call for several lines and a number of designs to support on-going purchasing behaviour and special apparel for various groups. Specific items and designs will also be required for gifts for all participants, volunteers, VIP, sponsors and media. A unique collectible souvenir will bring together the local media with the merchandising program. Special merchandise will be available at radio and television stations and distributed in an insert that the Winnipeg Free Press and/or Winnipeg Sun will produce to celebrate the history of the games, past stars and to promote the 2023 event. The merchandise sales plan will propose that items be sold onsite at major venues. Merchandise will be available at fundraising events and designated retail outlets will also carry the products. The website will also be included in the merchandise plan. Merchandise and program sales should generate substantial activity. We have set a target of nearly $250,000 net for merchandise sales. These targets are based on our experience hosting other events and a review of other games. It is understood that the 2023 WPFG Host Society will approve all plans and that specific agreements must be in place at key venues. Interest in Manitoba for the 2023 WPFG is very strong. Companies will step forward at various levels of sponsorship. We will work closely to support sponsorships and come up with local packages that work for all parties.
