Transit • Winnipeg has a bus public transit system owned and operated by the City of Winnipeg with financial support from the Province of Manitoba. • Daily ridership is more than 130,000 • The City of Winnipeg is currently implementing rapid transit using bus rapid transit. The first leg of the planned service route was completed in 2012. The second phase of this route is under construction and will be in service by 2020. Mayor Brian Bowman has stated his administration's intention to expand rapid transit service to all areas of the city including the airport by 2020.
