In winter, it is home to a skating rink with piped-in music under a canopy of twinkling lights. JOHNSTON TERMINAL This historic building offers three levels of fabulous shopping and dining including shops, specialty boutiques, a gallery, restaurant, and an antique mall. It is also connected to the Travel Manitoba Visitor Information Centre. A naked eye observatory, it pays homage to 6,000 years of Aboriginal peoples in the area and features ethereal sculptures, a sundial, interpretive signage, and a ceremonial fire pit. THE SKATEBOARD PLAZA AT THE FORKS The Plaza is a sensational open-air skate and BMX park. It's so good that Tony Hawk himself was on hand for the opening. It's one of the largest parks in Canada — having garnered national media attention — and features stair sets, banks, rails, and a steel ribbon track, while the Bowl Complex features a series of hips, elevators, extensions, and a pump bump.
