Winnipeg is home to North America's largest urban mature elm forest, with approximately 200,000 elm trees living within city limits. Green With envy FortWhyte Alive is home to the largest urban bison herd in Canada with 30 to 40 calling this nature oasis home. The Leo Mol Sculpture Garden is one of the few sculpture gardens in the world featuring the work of a single artist. Ukrainian sculptor Leo Mol—who resided in Winnipeg—is acclaimed worldwide, and his works grace sites around the world, including the Vatican. The Forks uses the used vegetable oil from its deep-fryers at its on-site restaurants and food kiosks to power its site truck, reefer, ice resurfacer and three gators.
