Bringing Home the Bacon Winnipeg's selection of craft breweries has been pouring fast, with over a half dozen new brewpubs opened since 2014 and more on the way - something for all sudsy aficionados to enjoy. A local concoction served at Bridge Drive-In (fondly known as BDI) is the weirdly named Goog, which is an upside-down blueberry milkshake topped with a hot fudge sundae, bananas and whipped cream. Influential publication Martha Stewart Weddings named Winnipeg twins Jenna Rae and Ashley Nicole of Jenna Rae Cakes the number one "20 cake makers to follow on Instagram." Their storefront bakery on Academy Road continues to see winding line-ups to this day. Pizza pops, a folded-over pizza snack similar to an Italian calzone, was invented in Winnipeg. The snack was acquired by Pillsbury and has been a staple for many hungry teens and families ever since. Mike Peters
