TNS is the largest privately funded real estate development project in Winnipeg's history. The ownership group is comprised of James Richardson & Sons, Limited and True North Sports + Entertainment Limited. Northland Properties Corporation is developing the Sutton Place Hotel & Residences as Phase 2 of the project. TNS features the six key pillars of mixed-use development: office, hotel, residential, retail, parking and a central plaza. The entire project includes four towers offering flexible office space, retail shops, residences, a full-service internationally branded hotel, heated underground parking and is targeting LEED ® Gold designation. It's also only steps away from Winnipeg Jets NHL hockey, Manitoba Moose AHL hockey and the city's hottest entertainment at Bell MTS Place. The development is situated directly southwest of Bell MTS Place, northeast of the RBC Convention Centre Winnipeg, and features direct access to Winnipeg's rapid transit corridor, downtown skywalk system and bicycle laneways. TNS presents its tenants and residents with a bold opportunity to participate in a downtown vision of a 'village in the heart of the community.' Phase 1 of the project is comprised of two towers: 242 Hargrave Street and 225 Carlton Street. As a Class A office tower, 242 Hargrave will offer a host of amenities for tenants, including an exciting new food concept and green roof, as well as fitness, conference and end-of-trip bicycle facilities. For its part, 225 Carlton is comprised of additional retail offerings, boutique offices and 194 high-end residential rental units. The building will contain market-leading tenant amenities—kitchen, dining room, media room, seating areas, and 25th floor rooftop patio—all with spectacular southern and western views. Perhaps the most compelling feature of TNS will be the central plaza, a beautifully landscaped outdoor urban space with a dramatic water feature and distinct user experience zones (Sports Legacy Square at Graham and Hargrave, True North Square in the heart of the plaza and Carlton Mews parkway running along Carlton Street), all of which are central to the new community being developed at TNS. 242 Hargrave is slated to open in July 2018, while 225 Carlton will be opening in the spring of 2019.
