23 Bringing Home The Bacon Pizza pops, a folded-over pizza snack similar to an Italian calzone, was invented in Winnipeg. The snack was acquired by Pillsbury and has been a staple for many hungry teens and families ever since. In 2017, Manitoba was crowned the Slurpee Capital of the World for the 18 th consecutive year in a row. Manitoba has the highest average number of Slurpee cups sold per store in a region. A local concoction served at Bridge Drive-In (fondly known as BDI) is the weirdly named Goog, which is a blueberry milkshake topped with a hot fudge sundae, bananas and whipped cream.
