Meetings and conventions citywide snapshot
2019 has become a successful year for meetings and conventions in
Winnipeg, currently pacing with an equal number of events as 2018 (11);
however, with larger events This is shown through the delegate count and
room nights in 2019, which pace significantly higher at 96.9 and 63.2 per
cent respectively. The year 2020 currently is pacing with seven citywide
events booked as of May 2019. The largest events include the Canadian
Dental Association with 2,400 delegates; the Chemical Institute of Canada
with 1,500 delegates; and the Student and Youth Travel Association
Annual Conference and National Sector Conference – both hosting 1,000
delegates. 2020 will also benefit from celebrations for Manitoba's 150th
anniversary since joining Confederation. Currently, three large citywides
are confirmed for 2021.
