FDI marketing and communications activities EDW will develop and produce impactful marketing materials to position Winnipeg as a desirable place to live, work and play. Website EDW will create and launch a brand-new FDI landing page on its website. Content marketing Through engaging storytelling, EDW will showcase Winnipeg's unique strengths, opportunities and value proposition in targeted markets through blog posts. They will also support the development/implementation of a digital marketing strategy and other related collateral. FDI sellsheet and sales mission support A sellsheet will be developed to support the FDI team in their efforts and sales missions. Colourful infographics and impactful data will highlight the Winnipeg advantage. Business development activities The following activities will build the foundational elements of the FDI strategy: Outlining the groundwork It is crucial to understand the current state of business and economic affairs as they relate to FDI in Winnipeg. We will leverage the reports and information generated to highlight the assets, opportunities and challenges around attracting FDI to Winnipeg. There will also be the need to conduct several conversations with key contacts in the productive ecosystem to learn a complete view of Winnipeg's readiness to attract and retain FDI opportunities. Strengthening relationships and partnerships As we continue to reach for opportunities abroad, it is important to strengthen the relationships we have with key partners in the Winnipeg ecosystem. Our team is committed to holding regular meetings and/or calls with partners such as the province, WTCW, CentrePort Canada, Invest in Canada and Global Affairs Canada. The purpose of these calls and meetings will be to identify opportunities to work together, inform each other of any updates within each of our organizations. This will allow us to promote our efforts abroad in a single and unified voice. Refining the FDI value proposition We will focus on strengthening Winnipeg's capacity to better market its FDI assets and to improve its responsiveness to FDI leads. We will develop, validate and agree upon objectives, target sectors, markets of focus and metrics linked to investment attraction to Winnipeg. The ability to build investment scenarios will allow the team to better sell the Winnipeg advantage to FDI prospects. We aim to develop a matrix that will assist us in designing high-level scenarios/case studies that show the transaction costs for business profiles of the five economic sectors of focus. Conducting outreach to generate impact Once we lay down the groundwork internally and within the Winnipeg ecosystem, we will be better positioned to continue build stronger relationships with international partners that can assist in multiplying Winnipeg's FDI value proposition and funnel leads. We will identify direct contacts and establish regular communications with identified international partners. The international partners include the foreign embassies in Canada of the FDI priority markets, as well as the binational chambers of commerce in those countries Aftercare Leveraging the established business retention and expansion process powered by the YW business development team, the FDI team will capture data points that provide a deeper understanding of Winnipeg's FDI stock.
