Ubisoft's investment in Winnipeg, announced in 2017, will reach $35 million and employ 100 people at maturity. Winnipeg worked with the province, city, CentrePort and the R.M. of Rosser as part of Team Manitoba to attract Merit's facility – an innovative production plant for pea and canola protein isolates. The 88,000 sq. ft. facility is an $80 million investment with 80 jobs initially, with potential for 240 positions in the future. Winnipeg-based manufacturing firm Price Industries had developed a new technology and needed to expand to produce its new product. With the help of YES! Winnipeg and its collaborators, the company decided to expand right here in Winnipeg. This welcome decision is projected to create 175 jobs and over $23 million in new investment in Winnipeg.
