Regionally, growth in average occupancy rates occurred primarily in Alberta (3.4%), while remaining stable in Saskatchewan, British Columbia and the Yukon, and dropping in Manitoba and the Northwest Territories. The average daily rate across Western Canada grew 2.6% to $132.98 from $129.67 in 2011. The average daily rate increased in each province and territory except British Columbia and Manitoba, where it remains virtually unchanged. Average RevPar in 2012 grew 4.6% to $83.08. Most of the growth occurred in Alberta, where RevPAR advanced 11.1% over last year; RevPAR was also up in Saskatchewan and the Yukon Territory. British Columbia remained virtually the same as the previous year with only a small increase of 0.5%. Both Manitoba and the Northwest Territories saw their average RevPAR decline.
