Northern exposure
The word Qaumajuq (pronounced kow-ma-yourk; meaning "It is bright,
it is lit") will be on the lips of many Winnipeggers in 2021. It is the name
bestowed by Indigenous language keepers and elders onto the Winnipeg
Art Gallery's (WAG) 40,000 sq. ft. Inuit art centre, a stunning feat of
architecture that houses the world's largest collection of contemporary
Inuit art. The first exhibit,
INUA, has been curated by an all-Inuit team and
will present works in a variety of mediums. Learn more in the WAG's Art is
a voice video.

Peak Canada
on the Prairies
Winnipeg–it might be flat, but it's also peak
Canada! Come see polar bears swim
overhead at the multi-award-winning Journey
to Churchill. Go on a bison safari at FortWhyte
Alive or hold and band a songbird at Oak
Hammock Marsh. Take a journey through the
awe-inspiring Canadian Museum for Human
Rights, then uncover the mysteries of the
Manitoba Legislative Building on a Hermetic
Code Tour. These are just a few of the uniquely
Canadian experiences available here in the
centre of the continent.
