COMMUNITY RELATIONS Tourism Winnipeg will enhance community relations initiatives to impact visitor experience and improve the cohesion of the tourism industry, positioning the organization as the core in one of the city's most important economic generators. COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT Winnipeg's tourism industry is comprised of a wide range of stakeholders who are dedicated to bringing visitors to the city. Tourism Winnipeg will develop a number of platforms to engage stakeholders in open communication, where the sharing of ideas and visions will strengthen relationships. Examples of platforms include the following: » Stakeholder Forums Tourism Winnipeg will develop and host stakeholder forums to discuss current issues and future trends as they relate to the enhancement and growth of tourism in Winnipeg. » Industry Roundtable Workshops Tourism Winnipeg will host topical roundtable discussions with private and public sector representatives to gather input that will contribute to future plans regarding the growth of tourism in Winnipeg. A Master Tourism Plan for Winnipeg | 2011-2015 | 2013 UPDATE » Industry Networking Events Tourism Winnipeg will host industry business luncheons to encourage strategic alliances. These luncheons will include industry updates, relevant participant presentations and/or educational speakers. These events will also provide access to staff, and promote partnership opportunities and programs available to industry partners. It will also keep Tourism Winnipeg informed about tourism products, events and experiences. To further enhance community relations, Tourism Winnipeg will support and celebrate the tourism industry at an annual holiday event for stakeholders. » State of the Tourism Industry Presentation Tourism Winnipeg will host an annual industry presentation with updates on marketing campaigns, celebrations of industry achievements and rollouts of related initiatives. » Tourism Awards A tourism awards program provides an opportunity to demonstrate the value of the tourism industry and recognizes that people are the greatest asset. It celebrates tourism successes, profiles innovations, acknowledges service excellence and rewards those who have made significant contributions to the 35
