When planning a trip to Winnipeg, a stop at this national museum is a must. We invite visitors to explore and reflect on human rights stories from our country and around the world. Whether their interests are in connecting with important stories and content, or awesome architecture, the museum delivers. Two of our twelve galleries feature temporary exhibitions, which are changed regularly; there's almost always something new to see. We take special measures to protect the health and safety of everyone in our building. The sheer volume of space within means that visitors need not be concerned about feeling crowded. Built to LEEDS silver standards, the museum has a high-performance HVAC system through which air quality are maintained to high standards. A variety of tours and activities can be arranged. Visits can be experienced in either of Canada's official languages—English or French. The combination of content, and staff expertise means there is something for people of all ages, including children and youth. Education activities, programs and tools continue to be developed to help K to 12 students and teachers with human rights learnings. From the way people enter the building, to the way they engage with exhibits, the entire experience is inclusive and accessible for all abilities. For example, all videos include open captioning, descriptive audio, American Sign Language (ALS) and Langes des signes québécoise (LSQ). If you or your visitors have specific needs, talk to us about how we can meet them. Located at The Forks, in downtown Winnipeg, close to a number of the city's hotels, and with easy access to various modes of transport, the Museum is literally at the centre of it all.
